About Me

Introduction

Hi, I am Andreas Markauskas. I am dedicated to living my life to the fullest by enjoying what life has to offer. Life offers many experiences such as knowledge, cultures, food and people. I am driven by an ambition to make life easier and more efficient in that there is more time for other pursuits. For example, my Yaneh project (Currently a recipe site) has the aim of sustainable sustenance.

Profession

I have been dedicated to developing web technologies for projects as well as to provide services. This has involved generating robust applications that functions well and fulfils the requirements.

I'm also currently seeking a job, part-time preferably so that I can work on my projects in my spare time.

Other interests

  • Movies that have a new story and not a remake into CGI. Most particular liked genres are fantasy, comedy, action, adventure and romance. Examples include; Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Princess Monoke, Pans Labyrinth and MacGyver.
  • Graphic novels from Terry Pratchett is a new interest lately. I have Guards! Guards!, The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic
  • Sports play such as soccer, skiing, sailing, volleyball, running, ping pong, fencing and paintball. I enjoy being competitive and offer a challenge to those interested for fun.
  • Researching topics. When I have plenty of time, I pursue ideas such as Near-Space Blimps or Airships (Example: Inflatable space tower) and other topics as I pursue a grand ambition to go to a space station in my lifetime.
  • Internet. I make use of the Internet to find comedy, discussions, information and other mediums that the Internet has to offer. With this way, I meet a great diversity of people that have many interesting views, interests and challenges, sometimes through activities like online games with Puzzle Pirates for example.
  • Meeting People. With so many people in the world, all having and have had different experiences in life of love, sorrow, anger and happiness. There's no one like another (except probably telepathic twins).

Cultural background

From an early birth, my parents were avid travellers and have taught me to love a variety of cultures, food (Even I took a fancy to spicy foods!) and history for which I am greatly thankful for the unforgettable experiences. In teaching me, they have brought me up mostly because of international relatives where a majority resides in Canada so there is frequent return trips every couple years. Aside from that, they did not wish to bore their kids with relatives and have taken us to other places.
